Katie Hewison

Katie Hewison

Katie first became involved with the charity when she was recruited to the ‘Trigold programme’ converting from distance running into Olympic distance triathlon. She is a former World duathlon champion, Commonwealth mountain running champion and was a member of the elite GB triathlon team for 5 years. Educated at Loughborough University, Katie now manages the day to day operations of the Trust and develops the Box4Kids programme.
Lucy Merrit

Lucy Merritt

Lucy coordinates all the nominations and logistics for our Box4Kids events, working with hospitals and venues to ensure our events run smoothly. She has a degree in Coaching and Sport Development and has a huge passion for gymnastics, formerly competing at national level. Lucy enjoys travelling and surfing, with Bali being her favourite destination.

 Emma Clare

Emma has worked as Barrie’s personal assistant for 25 years at a variety of companies, both commercial and charitable. As a mum of three boys Emma enjoys spending time with her family, walking with their Boxer dog in the Lake District and also taking part in amateur dramatics at her local theatre group.
Victoria Ribbnas

Victoria Ribbnas

Born and raised in Sweden, Victoria graduated with a 2:1 degree in Law and Politics from Queen Mary University of London. Her role at the Trust involves assisting in marketing and development of the Box4Kids initiative. In her spare time Victoria enjoys a variety of music and regularly travels within the UK and abroad to attend gigs and festivals.
Jessica Holmes

Jessica Holmes

Jessica assists with the coordination of all our Box4Kids events, liaising with hospitals, venues and parents. She graduated from Edinburgh University with a 2:1 degree in Philosophy and Theology. In her spare time Jessica enjoys attending music concerts and comedy shows.

 Mike Waterton

Mike has worked in the Insurance industry for the last 30 years, working with a wide range of insurance companies and brokers. In his spare time he enjoys travelling, walking in the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales, and following Yorkshire CCC and Leeds United.
Katie Hewison

Philippa Rothwell

Philippa is Barrie’s long standing business partner and together they founded Premierline Direct in 2001. As Deputy Chief Executive, Philippa managed a number of business critical functions within Premierline Direct, including operations and IT/Internet development. Prior to this Philippa had held various positions within the IT and Business Development departments of AXA Direct. Premierline Direct was sold in 2006 and Philippa left the company in 2008. She then rejoined Barrie to create the Barrie Wells Trust and is involved in the ongoing management of the Trust.
Lucy Merrit

Matthew Wells

Matthew is an Online Marketing Analyst and has been involved in the financial services market for many years. Matthew shares his father Barrie’s passion for many sports and enjoys travelling across the World to attending major sporting events. He enjoys keeping fit through half marathon races, triathlons and open water swimming events. He is a huge Liverpool FC fan and has taken a personal interest in the Trust’s Box4Kids scheme, providing regular support to its development.

Di Bishop

Di has represented Great Britain as a swimmer, competing in 2 Olympics, 3 Commonwealth and 3 European Games. She became a co-world record holder, a European record holder and was Britain’s number one freestyler. Her experience involves directing various sporting agencies including the Sports Development Department at Stockport MBC, Sport England where she directed the Inter Agency Project, Sports Plus and the Amateur Swimming Association as Director of Development.

Jackie Wild

Jackie is the newest Trustee to join the Barrie Wells Trust team and brings a great deal of personal experience and enthusiasm to the charity. Jackie and her youngest son Elliot, who was battling with Leukaemia, attended a Box4Kids event at Liverpool FC. Shortly after Elliot very sadly lost his battle with cancer and Jackie then took a sabbatical year from her role at John Lewis to raise money for Claire House. She has since been very actively involved with the Barrie Wells Trust helping to host events and positively sharing her story.
